Single people make Valentine’s Day all about loving the opposite sex. Or the fact that they’re “alone”. Or that they “hate” Valentine’s Day. No you don’t. I used to be there. I know exactly why. You “hate” it because you’re sick & tired of not being appreciated today. You’re tired of going to bed alone, or going to bed with someone that you’re just “fooling around with”, or going to bed with anyone because you’re simply afraid of being physically alone. If you’re single, try looking at Valentine’s Day in an optimistic way. Try making it about the one you love the most. A non-romantic love. Your son, your mother, your best friend, or even your favorite bartender. If you’re tired of being alone, then don’t be alone tonight. Find someone to talk to or to spend time with. There’s always someone. May not be be the one you want…but at least there’s someone. If you’re able to read this, that means you have someone. Me.

Today was actually a good day and I was ok with being alone.
