four eyes.

I have a secret. Well, maybe it’s not that big of a secret, for those that really know me. I own 2 pairs of glasses that I’m supposed to wear all the time. I was prescribed back in 2001, when I first started getting online. I’m guessing the long nights of AOL chatting and being amazed by all the hobbies of the internet consumed me so much, I ended up messing up my 20/20 vision. I didn’t realize I needed glasses until one day I was in class and I couldn’t read what my professor put up on the board. I was mortified! Nevertheless, I was told I needed prescription glasses. I was also told to wear them all the time. I didn’t. And I still don’t. I wear them when I go to the movies, trying to find a location whilst driving, and sometimes when I watch tv. Very defiant, I know, however, this tactic has helped me not depend on them all the time.

Since 2001, my prescription strength has been the same. So have my boring frames. I recently discovered Zenni Optical. They’re the #1 online eyeglasses store, and I love their new site. They have glasses that start at just $6.95! While I haven’t ordered any myself, I do like the frames that they offer, so I may have to check them out. You should too! Here’s a picture of the ones I like the best. The sku is #228521:

Zenni rocks for cheap glasses. I have five pairs from Zenni, and even with shipping I have spent less than $100 on all five.

I’ve been blind as a bat since the 7th grade. :( My crazy sense of style as a kid lead me to buy purple wire-framed glasses. I had to wear them all the time, because I really couldn’t see at all. O_O When I got older I opted for contacts, because the glasses get heavy and irritated my ears. But for my backup glasses, I actually have to get the lenses specially made thinner which cost me a few hundred in itself. I invested in cute black Prada frames several years ago that were actually much cheaper than my lenses.

I’ve been using Zenni for a few years, LOVE them. I have glasses in various colors to match my outfits, lol.
